Hume Supernatural All Body Deodorant—a lightweight, all-over cream—disappears on contact but its odor-busting powers remain. The plant-powered zinc actives neutralize bacteria and it also nourishes with an antioxidant-rich formula. This makes it gentle enough for sensitive spots but effective enough for your sweatiest and nether-est regions. It also delivers a smooth, velvety texture so that it can mitigate chafing around your thighs. The sophisticated, subtle scent (neroli, agave, citrus) won’t compete with your cologne, either. So, you get clean, effective, and appealing odor with moisture protection that lasts all day.Best Budget Whole Body Deodorant: Dove Men+Care Whole Body Deo

Dove Men+Care Whole Body Deo delivers premium performance at a drugstore price point—exactly what you’d expect from the brand that’s mastered the art of gentle yet effective whole body care. And one of its newest scents, this Marine + Blue Cypress accord, strikes that perfect balance between fresh and masculine without veering into overpowering territory. The real standout feature is its Vitamin E-enriched formula, which helps cushion and condition skin while fighting odor for up to 72 hours, proving you don’t need to drop serious cash for serious protection.Doctor’s Pick Whole Body Deodorant: Necessaire Deodorant Gel

Malik likes to endorse Necessaire Deodorant Gel for all-over use—even if it was formulated foremost for the pits. “It is fragrance-free and contains 5 percent alpha-hydroxy acids, lactic and mandelic, that help maintain an optimal skin pH to discourage odor-causing bacteria,” he says. “The gel format absorbs quickly without residue, making it practical for full-body use. It also contains niacinamide and panthenol, which support the skin barrier, and it has a nice light gel texture that makes it suitable for use on multiple body areas without feeling heavy or greasy.”Best Whole Body Deodorant for the Groin: Happy Nuts Comfort Cream

When it comes to below-the-belt freshness, Happy Nuts Comfort Cream is the perfect solution for guys dealing with everything from batwing and thigh chafe to swamp crotch and diaper khaki. If you know, you know. The Comfort Cream creates a powdery, moisture-wicking barrier atop the skin, which protects you against sweat accumulation as well as chafing. In our book, that makes Happy Nuts absolutely crucial for long work days or even quick workout sessions. And even better yet, it soothes on contact. Who could complain about having tingly fresh feeling down there?Best Unscented Whole Body Deodorant: Mando Smooth Solid Whole Body Deodorant
Some men don’t like powerful scents. Thankfully, Mando Smooth Solid Whole Body Deodorant is unscented.Courtesy Image
Mando Smooth Solid Whole Body Deodorant is the minimalist’s dream, stripped of fragrance but not performance. It’s powered by corn starch, and what impresses me most is how it manages to neutralize even the most aggressive body odors without masking them via competing scents. Instead, it’s just pure, invisible protection that works everywhere from pits to groin to feet.Best Body Spray: Axe Blue Lavender Premium Deodorant Body Spray

Forget everything you thought you knew about Axe. Its Fine Fragrance Collection casts the same top-shelf aromas as any bottle of expensive cologne. After all, they’re using the same professional perfumers for these body sprays as the top luxe labels. Axe Blue Lavender Premium Deodorant Body Spray is the best in the brand’s lineup, combining fresh lavender with cool mint and broody amber. Keep things above the belt here; it’s primarily for your chest and backside. But its deodorizing abilities should endure as long as 72 hours.Best Whole Body Deodorant Stick: Old Spice Sweat Absorbing Deodorant Stick

Old Spice Sweat Absorbing Deodorant Stick brings the brand’s legendary odor stoppage to a full-body format. A tapioca starch formula absorbs sweat and keeps you both dry and fresh; it also builds a nice anti-chafe barrier over skin, should you want to give your thighs a rubdown before work or workouts. To top it off, this sandalwood + mandarin scent feels rich and sophisticated.Best Deodorant Wipes: Duradry Whole Body Deodorant Wipes
Forget spray and sticks altogether. Duradry Whole Body Deodorant Wipes is the simplest way to beat body odor.Courtesy Image
Duradry Whole Body Deodorant Wipes have become my travel and gym bag essential for a quick refresh when I don’t have the time or convenience to shower. They’re enriched with aloe and chamomile that soothe and condition skin. For travel days, these are a shortcut to feeling somewhat rejuvenated mid-long haul flight or for looking a bit more alert upon landing. Not to mention, smelling unfunky, too.Related: Best Electric Razor for Men of 2025 to Trim Head to ToeHow to Choose the Right Whole-Body DeodorantTo shop smartly in this category, you first need to consider the two key types of sweat and understand where you need to target. Many deodorants have moisture-controlling and odor-neutralizing ingredients, but odor is typically only an issue in certain parts of the body—namely the pits, groin, and feet. So, those are the areas you want to target. Here’s more about sweat, before we get into other facets to consider.Different Types of SweatIt’s helpful to know the difference between apocrine and eccrine sweat glands.Apocrine sweat glands are found in your armpits and groin as well as the scalp, typically around prominent hair follicles. Eccrine sweat glands are found pretty much all over your body.“Apocrine glands secrete proteins and lipid-rich fluids that create body odor when broken down by normally residing bacteria on the skin,” says Malik. “Unlike eccrine glands which produce mostly water and electrolytes.” Malik says that targeting underarms has long been a key priority with odor control because “they’re warm, occluded, and have hair follicles that trap moisture and bacteria.”But feet are different: They don’t have apocrine glands. only eccrine. Yet they still emit odor. That’s because there are unique bacteria and fungus found on your feet that thrive in the dark, damp environment. As for the rest of your body, like the torso and back, Malik adds that only those who sweat a lot should be concerned about odor there. And, the sooner you change out of sweaty clothes and keep yourself refreshed, the less likely you’ll have issues.Stick, Spray, Cream, or WipesThis is mostly a matter of preference or sometimes ergonomics. My partner loves Dove’s whole body spray because he can hit his backside and undercarriage in one fell swoop without having to massage lotions or let them dry. For me, I like a lotion or stick that massages in and provides some chafe prevention. So, between creams/balms/lotions, rub-ons, and sprays, just take your pick.“[Sprays] are convenient and provide quick application without direct skin contact, so they are good for hard-to-reach areas,” says Malik. “They may contain drying alcohol and pose inhalation concerns.”On solid sticks, Malik has a different opinion: “These provide precise application and typically last longer, but may leave residue on clothing and can feel heavy on skin when applied over large areas.”Meanwhile, Malik thinks lotions and balms are great because they include additional skincare ingreidents that help the sin. “They typically offer better distribution across skin surfaces but require more time to dry,” he says.As for wipes, they’re more about cleansing the area in order to deodorize. The best ones temper skin with stank-neutralizing ingredients, though.Overall, Malik prefers lotions and balms for whole-body application: “They can incorporate barrier-supporting ingredients while delivering odor protection. For patients with sensitive skin, fragrance-free balms are particularly beneficial”Sensitive SkinMalik urges anyone with sensitive skin to avoid used scented products, since perfumes or artificial fragrances easily irritate. That said, many products use natural scents, too, so it helps to follow the label if you aren’t against plant-derived aromas. All skin types should avoid alcohol-heavy deos, he says. Additionally, it’s best not to go liberal with antiperspirant around the body if that’s a product you tend to use for sweat control in your pits. Underarm Deodorant vs. Whole-Body DeodorantThe primary difference between armpit deodorant and whole body deodorant is in formulation strength, explains Malik. “Underarm deodorants are typically formulated with higher concentrations of active ingredients because the armpits can tolerate stronger formulations. Whole body deodorants generally contain milder ingredients suitable for more sensitive areas,” he says. “I find that they often focus on odor neutralization rather than sweat blocking. While whole body deodorants can usually be used on underarms, the reverse isn’t always recommended, as underarm formulations may be too harsh for more delicate skin areas.”How I Picked The Best Whole-Body DeodorantsI tested every product on this list myself, and I consulted other sweaty folks to get their takes on the best whole body deodorants out there. For example, my partner deploys Dove Men+Care’s deo spray every single day to his pits, junk, and feet. I also spoke with skincare experts to understand what to look for in a quality whole body deodorant. Why You Should Trust MeI’ve been on the grooming beat since 2013. I test just about every product that rolls out. As for this particular area of expertise—full body sweat—it’s especially lived in, if you know what I mean. I’m an extremely sweaty individual, and controlling both sweat and odor are a constant priority.See Full List of Winners From Men’s Journal 2025 Grooming AwardsRelated: We Tested Dozens of Shampoos.
