Timex Adds a Super Affordable Dive Watch to Their Incredible Collection
Timex is plunging back into the dive watch world with a new addition to their Deepwater collection, the Deepwater Reef 200 XCF. The new piece carries with it everything we’ve come to expect from the Waterbury, Connecticut-based brand, offering dive enthusiasts the opportunity to purchase a quality underwater tracker without breaking the bank.Dive watches often carry hefty price tags—not that scuba diving is an inherently cheap sport to begin with—and over the years, Omega, Grand Seiko, Rolex, Tag Heuer, and basically every other major name in the timekeeping game have created fashionable wearables that cost at least four figures (if not five, or even six). Timex, however, has attempted to keep the dive watch world somewhat accessible with timepieces like the Deepwater collection.

Made from a combination of mixed polycarbonate with extended carbon fibers, the Deepwater Reef 200 XCF manages to be lighter than aluminum and stronger than traditional resin. On top of their highly durable construction, sapphire crystals with anti-reflective coating help offer ultimate clarity under the water surface, while screw-down crowns and case backs effectively keep water out, and glow-in-the-dark hands and hour markers provide the luminosity divers rely on below the surface. Additionally, each piece in the new collection can withstand up to 20 atmospheres (200m) of water pressure. There’s nothing small about this latest addition to the Deepwater collection, which comes in with a 43mm case diameter and 12.5mm case height. Yet, it manages to be lightweight and is priced at less than $300, which is pretty decent since it also carries a one-year warranty.

At its heart, this latest model features a quartz movement that keeps time down to the millisecond, and also features a stainless-steel top ring that offers another reliable way to track time underwater. The strap, meanwhile, is a black, synthetic two-piece that can go just about anywhere. The Deepwater Reef 200 XCF is priced at $259 and can be purchased via the brand’s official website.
