Vegas Will Head to the Danger Zone With Immersive ‘Top Gun’ Bar and Ride

For the first time ever, you will be able to immerse yourself in every aspect of the world of the Top Gun movies, minus actually flying F-14 fighter jets. In a new business venture between Paramount Global and Advent Allen Entertainment, fans will be able to head to the danger zone in Las Vegas for a fully immersive Top Gun experience, starting in the summer of 2028.According to a new press release, the new attraction “fuses high-octane ride systems, cinematic storytelling, and a full-scale recreation of Top Gun: Maverick’s Hard Deck bar and restaurant.” The attraction is set to be built at the STRAT site at the heart of Las Vegas. Although this is still three years away, Paramount did provide some concept art for what the final attraction will look like.

According to the press release, the Top Gun attraction will be immersive, which means that in addition to hanging out in places that are designed to look like the movies, there will also be an interactive aspect to everything. Here’s how it’s described:”This bold new venture will seamlessly combine breathtaking visuals, high-energy entertainment, and the legendary spirit of Top Gun, complete with fighter jet simulators and more. Adding to the fun, guests will embark on a pulse-pounding mission using state-of-the-art thrill ride systems and immersive technology that will redefine the meaning of adventure, then kick back at the reimagined Top Gun: Maverick’s Hard Deck bar and restaurant featuring live piano sing-alongs.”So yes, if you’re hoping that your live-action Top Gun roleplaying will include singing “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’” with a bar full of friends, you’re in luck. As of this writing, it’s unclear if the attraction will also include Val Kilmer and Tom Cruise look-alikes or a section where you can play slow-motion volleyball with the song “Playing with the Boys” blasting in the background. You can stream Top Gun (1986) and Top Gun: Maverick (2022) on Paramount+.Related: Val Forever: Where to Stream Val Kilmer’s Best Movies
